Jack @ Holland Hospital

Here are some pictures of our stay at Holland Hospital. It was really a good experience.

Jack's got us wrapped around his little finger already. :-)

He's so puffy!

This was his little "isolette," as they called it.

One of the first times we caught him with his eyes open!

This last picture needs a little bit of explanation. When we were first married, Dave and I often went to a restaurant in town called Orlando's. They had really good pizza, and the people there were so friendly--the waitresses would see us at the door, and just go ahead and put in our order for us. There was an appetizer there called Pizza Puffs...basically deep-fried dough with dipping sauces. They were addictive and probably shortened our life spans considerably. Long story short, the restaurant went out of business, and we were devastated. We found out later that Orlando (the owner) went on to become the head chef at the hospital. When we took our tour of the birth center, we asked if there was any way we could get pizza puffs--unfortunately, it didn't seem promising. :-( Fast forward to the day after Jack was born...there was a knock at our door, and there was Orlando, standing there with the puffs and the sauces. Granted, I was an emotional wreck at this point, but I cried my eyes out--I was so hungry for "real food" and I couldn't believe he would be that thoughtful. They weren't even on the menu! :-)
